Your learning progress — words learned, review schedule, streaks, and XP — is stored locally on your device so the app can track your progress and plan your review sessions.
Pronunciation practice is optional. If you use it, the app requests access to your microphone to record your voice and compare it against the target pronunciation using speech recognition. Audio is used only for this feature and only when you actively use it.
With your permission, the app sends local notifications (for example, streak or review reminders) generated on your device. These are not sent from a remote server.
Home screen widgets display information such as your streak and next review, read from data stored on your device.
Common Words uses Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect information such as device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, and may use this data in line with Google's own privacy policy. You can review Google's practices at their privacy policy.
Optional premium features are purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system (StoreKit). Payment information is handled entirely by Apple; ELII does not receive or store your payment details.
ELII does not sell your personal information. Limited data may be shared with service providers named above (AdMob, Apple) strictly to provide their respective features.
You can deny or revoke microphone and notification permissions at any time in your device settings; doing so only disables the related feature.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
